wonderful it was to welcome the Mary Webb Society to Stokesay Court for their recent Summer School, especially in the centenary year of the publication of Mary Webb’s Golden Arrow.

Village Quire’s performance of Precious Bane in the Great Hall brought an extra dimension to their visit. The setting of Stokesay Court gave the Society the perfect combination of period setting, space and peaceful landscape. I was delighted to hear how well it went, as it’s always a joy to see such interesting events taking place in the house and I hope to welcome them back again another year.
