This season has flown by and I have been reminded that it is now five months since the last bulletin. We have been very busy and this catch-up will fill you in on some of the events that have taken place here during our busy summer. June Tabor concerts 
In May, just three weeks after the memorable Red Cross Hospital commemorative weekend, we set out the chairs again in the Great Hall to welcome June Tabor. For those who don't know June she is a folk and traditional music singer of some renown; for her fans she needs no introduction. June’s fans came from far 
and wide to hear her perform, from Suffolk, Dorset and even from the Bahamas …. yes really! Both concerts were a sell out.
She came with fellow musicians Andy Cutting and Mark Emerson, and delivered two memorable and magical performances. June is renowned for her unique singing voice. When in concert she interweaves the songs with fascinating narrative to explain them and their background. It was a truly memorable experience. June, you are welcome back anytime and everyone should watch this space for future concerts since we all had such fun. Blind Veterans Association 
In June we were privileged to be able to welcome the Blind Veterans Association to luncheon at Stokesay Court as part of their anniversary commemorative weekend in Church Stretton where they had been based during the Second World War. The event was very well attended. We lunched on tables in both the Dining Room and the Great Hall and took three separate tours around the House where the WW1 Hospital archives on display attracted particular comment and interest. The second Ludlow Fun Dog Day organized so brilliantly by the Ludlow Rotary Club with assistance from other local Rotarians took place on July 19th. 
It built on the last year’s initial success and attracted over 3,000 visitors together with their dogs of so many varied shapes and sizes. Jules Hudson was on hand to open the event again, and the competitions, dog display teams and the presence of so many interesting stalls made it a memorable day. Even the sun shone.
