Stokesay Court gets artistic
Stokesay Court has just hosted its first ever Art Exhibition.
Works went on display by the talented, up and coming artist, Iona Magnus

Yes the name might slightly give away my justifiable ‘aunt’s enthusiasm’ but from the picture I am posting I am sure you will see that my viewpoint is not wholly baseless.
This house has lots of walls of its own, but they already have pictures on them, and don’t react well to new pins or hooks for hanging. Also, for a proper exhibition they do not have the correct lighting.
So in came screens and lighting to turn the hall into a more professional gallery space.
Builders, carpenters, electricians – all have had their part to play in setting it up.
There was no more putting off the struggle to master mail merge ; invitations had to be sent out – and food and drink ordered, plus a willing (with very little arm twisting I assure you) band of helpers for the two days of the event .
I am pleased to say it was a resounding success.

As well as supporting new talent it has been a welcome opportunity to try out the house for other such events in the future and so it will very much be a case of ‘watch this space’ and who knows perhaps Stokesay Court will one day host a more regular exhibition?
Better pictures of this splendid event will hopefully follow soon...
